Korea's online shopping movement hits new highs, reaching 78 trillion won (USD 71.7 billion) in 2017 and expected to exceed 80 trillion won (USD 73.6 billion) this year according to statistics released by the National Statistical Office on 2 December 2017. Mobile based online transactions accounted for 61% of the total online market. Food and Beverage (F&B) online sales saw a massive 38.0% increase to 9,751.1 billion won (USD 8.9 million), outpacing consumer electronics (8,912.3 billion won, 24.3%) and travel services (12.996 trillion won, 14.8%).
